Julz is one of the owners here at Diamond J Ranch. She directs the training and lesson program, oversees horse management, and plays a role in every aspect of operations here. Her love for horses began long before she can remember and she started riding as soon as she could. From a young age, there was never a doubt in her mind that every ounce of her future would be filled with horses. She has a well rounded background and is experienced in several different disciplines. She started off in the hunter environment before gaining interest in Western riding. When making the transition, she kept her English roots by continuing to show in the English pleasure and equitation alongside Western pleasure, horsemanship, and ranch classes. As her love for Western riding grew, she discovered barrel racing and pole bending is where her heart belongs and she became involved in NBHA and IBRA. As a 4-H and FFA alumni, she spent several years partaking in horse projects and competing in horse judging. After graduating from the Medina County Career Center, where she studied animal science with an emphasis on horses, she attended the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute to pursue her admiration of equine science. Throughout high school and college, she was dedicated to working at her local tack shop and began training horses professionally for the public. Since growing her training program in Northeast Ohio, she made the move South to expand and take new opportunities.

Doug is an extremely hard worker and enjoys the hands-on outdoor activities such as mowing, being on the tractor, and overseeing all aspects of the ranch. Alongside being an owner of Diamond J Ranch, he’s poured countless years of hard work and determination into his security company, Securitec Security Systems. Securitec keeps our facility protected and secure with state of the art technology. Missy is also a notable member of our team. Whether it’s painting, cleaning, or making delicious meals to keep everyone fed, she’s always lending a helping hand. Missy played a key role in jumpstarting her daughter’s journey with horses by taking her to lessons at a young age and being involved as she began showing. Her experiences brought her knowledge and skills to help care for the horses. In their free time, Doug and Missy enjoy spending their evenings on Watts Bar Lake with their golden retrievers and family.
