Julz is one of the proud owners of Diamond J Ranch and serves as the director of the training and lesson programs. She also oversees horse management and plays an integral role in the daily operations of the ranch. Her lifelong passion for horses began before she could even remember, and she’s been riding since she was old enough to sit in the saddle. Julz brings a diverse and well-rounded background to her work. She began riding in the hunter/jumper world before transitioning to Western disciplines—carrying over her English roots by competing in both English and Western pleasure, equitation, horsemanship, and ranch classes. As her love for Western performance deepened, she found her true calling in barrel racing and pole bending, actively competing in NBHA and IBRA events. An alumna of 4-H and FFA, Julz spent many years participating in horse projects and horse judging competitions. In high school, she attended the Medina County Career Center, where she studied animal science with a concentration in equine care—completing certifications in PetTech, OSHA, and ACT veterinary courses. Her graduation project—a business model for a future equine facility—planted the early seeds for what would eventually become Diamond J Ranch.

Julz continued her education at The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute, where she expanded her knowledge in equine breeding, dressage principles, colt starting, problem-solving, sales and marketing, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and management. She was also an active member of the Collegiate Horseman’s Association. In addition to her academic achievements, Julz has years of hands-on experience gained from working at a local tack shop, assisting reining trainers, and eventually launching her own professional training program. After building a strong client base in Northeast Ohio—a region rich in equine culture—she relocated to the South to grow her business and embrace new opportunities. Julz has also completed the University of Tennessee’s Master Horse Program and is committed to continuing her education and staying current with industry standards. She shares her days with her two cherished Quarter Horses, WP Gallos Dashofrost and Shining Sunfrost, and her loyal golden retriever, Rip.

In 2023, Doug and Missy joined their daughter Julz in co-owning Diamond J Ranch, bringing with them years of dedication, hard work, and family-centered values. Together, they’ve been instrumental in shaping the ranch into the thriving, high-quality facility it is today. Doug is a hands-on owner with a deep appreciation for outdoor work. Whether he's mowing, running the tractor, or maintaining the property, he takes pride in every detail. In addition to his role at the ranch, Doug is the founder and owner of Securitec Security Systems, a company he’s built through years of persistence and excellence. Thanks to his expertise, Diamond J Ranch is equipped with cutting-edge security technology, ensuring the safety of both our horses and facility. Missy is a vital part of the Diamond J Ranch team, known for her unwavering support and behind-the-scenes contributions. From painting and cleaning to preparing delicious meals that keep everyone energized, Missy is always there to lend a helping hand. She was instrumental in supporting Julz’s early passion for horses—attending lessons, shows, and helping care for horses along the way—bringing invaluable experience and insight to the ranch. In their downtime, Doug and Missy love spending evenings with their family and golden retrievers on the peaceful waters of Watts Bar Lake, embracing the same sense of community and relaxation they foster at the ranch.

Wyatt brings a unique blend of agricultural knowledge and technical expertise to Diamond J Ranch. Raised in a community rich in agricultural tradition in Northeast Ohio, his passion for the industry began early through his involvement in 4-H, where he developed a strong work ethic and deep respect for animal care. As the great-grandson of Bob Evans, a legacy in American agriculture, Wyatt was naturally drawn to a life rooted in farming and livestock. Throughout his youth, Wyatt participated in a wide range of 4-H projects, showing animals from chickens and alpacas to beef steers—just about everything except horses. Today, as a proud 4-H alumnus, he continues to give back by volunteering his time and expertise at the Medina County Fair and various livestock shows, supporting the next generation of agricultural youth. In addition to his background in agriculture, Wyatt is passionate about technology and operational infrastructure. He has played an essential role in enhancing the ranch’s day-to-day functionality and safety. From installing the ranch’s extensive fire and security system and barn-wide Wi-Fi, to developing creative tech-driven solutions, Wyatt continues to drive innovation and efficiency behind the scenes. His dedication and resourcefulness make him a valued part of the Diamond J Ranch team.

Jim serves as the Maintenance and Property Manager at Diamond J Ranch and has been with the ranch since its earliest days. His commitment and versatility make him an essential part of the team, helping the facility grow and thrive through every phase of its development. Jim takes pride in the hands-on nature of his role. Whether he’s maintaining the grounds, managing landscaping, operating machinery, or overseeing construction projects, he ensures that every part of the ranch runs smoothly and safely. With a strong background in equine care, Jim also assists with horse handling and day-to-day horse management, adding yet another layer to his valuable skill set. Outside of work, Jim brings the same energy and passion to his hobbies. He enjoys spending time with friends, swing dancing, DJing, and riding or working on his beloved “iron ponies”—his motorcycles. Jim’s dedication, craftsmanship, and can-do attitude help keep Diamond J Ranch in top shape for horses and humans alike.
